Projects

Since 2014 the European Union has started new European projects Erasmus+ which in the part KA2 give possibilities for adult learners and the institutions which focus on learning in later life. In the first call Comenius University and its University of the Third Age acquired the Erasmus+ project “Educational Senior Network” for period from 1.12.2014 to 30.10.2017. The project aims at innovation of programmes for senior citizens as well as mapping and comparison of educational programmes for seniors throughout Europe. The project is a cooperation of 7 european universities under the coordination of Centre for continuing education at Comenius University in Bratislava. During the years 2011 – 2015 the Centre for continuing education at Comenius University have been taking part in the project of EU (Grundtvig) “ForAge” in the cooperation with other 16 European institutions for LLL. More you can read on the project site:                 www.foragenetwork.eu

In the year 2011 we started to realise new European project Senior Volunteering Project (SVP) together with the centre ZAWIW at the University in Ulm. Senior volunteers started to arrange their activities in the partner countries for and with the seniors in the project called „Danube that connects us“. Senior students from Germany, who participated in the project SVP spent time in Slovakia twice for the duration 3 weeks. They visited in Bratislava not only Comenius University and Slovak Technical University, but also centre Memory and residential home for seniors – Hestia.  The volunteers from Germany got possibilities to meet older students at the University of Constantinus Philosopher in Nitra and at the Žilina University in Žilina and took part in other volunteering activities.

For Day of Europe (9.May) the volunteers got invitation to the city hall where had met mayor of the city Bratislava. Danubiana gallery was the place which was one of the most interesting place for them.

 Slovak seniors who spent time abroad in Germany have participated in the courses for the seniors in Ulm and worked voluntary at the market during the Easter holiday.
